Cook's family owns land in the Sacramento Valley in which the California Waterfowl Association funds a conservation project on the property that restores wetlands and waterfowl populations. Cook has a very environmentally conscious attitude, and claims that her interest in duck hunting stems from this. She also drives a hybrid.

Stacey Cook is an Alpine Skier competing for the United States in her second Olympic appearance. She was the 2006 and 2008 U.S. Super G Champion, and was the silver medalist in '07. In 2008. Cook was also the U.S. Downhill Champion.
