She has competed in the 2008 and 2009 World Championships, which will help her prepare for her first Olympic appearance. Off the skis, Spector is studying biological sciences at Dartmouth, and expects to graduate in 2010.
Growing up on a farm in Massachusetts, she has a "good appreciation for nature and for animals and anything you see out in the wild, because my mom raised me to respect animals and respect their habitat and to treat them well".

Bio
Laura Spector is representing the United States in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in the Biathlon. Only 22 years old, Spector started skiing in eighth grade while at a camp in Lake Placid.
