The Promise

Together, the GreenLaces’ community of online promises is saving over 100 tons of CO2 and $5,600 each year. Join the movement by making a promise in the following areas:

Energy

• I promise to turn off the lights when I leave the room or office.
• I promise to replace my light-bulbs with efficient ones.

Transportation

• I promise to carpool.
• I promise to walk or bike to close destinations.

Waste

• I promise to bring my own re-usable canvas bags to the grocery store.
• I promise to change all of my bills to online bill-pay.

Water

• I promise to take shorter showers.
• I promise to turn off unnecessary running water (dishes, brushing teeth, etc.).

Food

• I promise to pack my own lunches in re-usable containers.
• I promise to buy locally grown produce.
• I promise to eat at least one vegetarian meal a week.

Materials & Products

• I promise to use recycled paper for all of my printing needs.
• I promise to never buy a plastic water bottle again.

The Laces

The “green movement” needs a uniting symbol.

Environmental issues need a solution achieved through social measures.

The challenge of a deteriorating planet can be approached in many ways. GreenLaces confronts this challenge through pop culture and individual reform providing an immediate and viral impact. By leveraging athletes and celebrities, GreenLaces inspires the masses and makes “being green” a pervasive social phenomenon.
